Coffee and its beauty benefits
Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Today, I'm back with you for a new article. Who, like me, can't do without a good cup of coffee in the morning 😩☕️? A simple little cup that manages to set the tone for our day. Apart from its digestive properties and its preventive actions against certain diseases (cardiovascular, type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's, etc.), coffee can play an important role in our beauty routine. Let's discover together how to integrate it into our care to benefit from its virtues.
The coffee bean contains vitamins, nutrients and minerals such as magnesium, copper, vitamins B2, B3, B5 and B6, potassium, iron, zinc, calcium and sodium. All these elements make coffee an excellent product for health. But why not take advantage of its benefits and the richness of coffee in cosmetics? After all, nature is equipped with everything we need for our beauty ☺️😌😉. Here are some properties and uses of coffee for healthier, radiant skin and healthy, beautiful and long hair.
For the skin
1. Fights wrinkles
Thanks to its antioxidant properties, coffee helps fight wrinkles. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals. These free radicals, which are found naturally in the body, if present in too large quantities, can cause skin damage. Antioxidants then reduce fine lines which will later become wrinkles. Hence the use of coffee in products against skin aging.
2. Treats pimples and acne
For people with oily skin, pores can be easily clogged, due to excess oil or dirt. Which can cause, among other things, pimples or acne. Coffee, with its exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties, deeply cleanses the skin, rids it of dirt, reduces redness and inflammation.
3. Fight against cellulite
Cellulite, usually found on the thighs, buttocks, hips and stomach, is a skin disorder where fat cells accumulate fat excessively in the deeper layers of the skin. Coffee, thanks to the caffeine it contains, activates blood circulation and promotes the discharge of fat cells. In addition, with its exfoliating action, it will help fight cellulite by softening and smoothing the skin.
4. Reduces dark circles
Dark circles can be caused by overexposure to the sun's rays, aging, smoking, lack of sleep or fatigue, to name a few. The blood vessels under the eyes shrink, the skin becomes thinner and has an uneven tone. The caffeine present in coffee will dilate blood vessels and increase blood circulation around the eyes.
5. Exfoliates, protects, soothes, firms the skin
As mentioned above, coffee has exfoliating properties. It will help to unclog the pores of dirt, rid it of dead cells, fight excess sebum and stimulate the production of collagen thanks to its acid content.
Coffee will also help soothe the skin by repairing damage caused by the sun, reducing sun spots, reducing redness and irritation. This means that body cosmetic products containing coffee can be suitable for people with sensitive skin.
In addition, thanks to antioxidants and vitamin B3, it will help protect skin cells against UVB rays and inhibit cancer cells.
By controlling excess sebum, coffee can have a toning effect by tightening pores. Hence firmer and rejuvenated skin.
For hair
1. Stimulates growth
By activating blood circulation, caffeine will promote hair growth and make it stronger. Caffeine also blocks the effects of the hormone responsible for hair loss, DHT (dihydrotestosterone). We can therefore say that coffee promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss.
2. Helps fight/prevent white hair
Mixed with your shampoo, in hair scrub, coffee darkens the hair. Thanks to its richness in antioxidants, it will fight against aging in general. Hence natural coloring, if you have white (or gray) hair, you want to prevent it or simply darken your hair color.
3. Invigorates hair, makes it shiny
Thanks to the potassium it contains, coffee has an invigorating effect on the hair. Which, in addition, will make your hair shiny and vibrant. Antioxidants can also add volume to hair, making it denser.
4. Fights dandruff
The high magnesium content of coffee gives it the power to fight dandruff and cleanse the scalp.
5. Very effective for oily hair
Coffee will regulate sebum production, thus keeping hair clean longer and spacing out shampooing.
After all this, you will have understood, coffee is an essential tool in our skincare routines. Consumed regularly and in small doses, it contributes to our well-being. The marc can be used as a scrub for the face, body or hair. In cosmetic products, it plays many roles such as fighting cellulite, preventing aging, eradicating dark circles, fighting acne or even activating hair growth.
