As you may have noticed, DIY hair or face masks are everywhere on social networks. In one click, thousands of combinations of natural products are presented to us to take care of our hair. There are protein masks and hydrating masks. Combined with good habits, you have a healthy mane.

You already know that hair is made up of keratin, a protein that is naturally present there. But over time the hair loses keratin and it is no longer renewed, the hair is then damaged, it loses strength, it becomes brittle. When hair is also mistreated, it becomes damaged. Protein masks will strengthen the hair, make it supple, shiny and restore the hair's keratin. Let's see together 5 different masks that we can make at home to strengthen the keratin in our hair ☺️.

1. Eggs, fig-banana, avocado, honey, olive oil

Cardi B's famous mask (or almost)! Mix an egg, a fig-banana, a part of avocado, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of olive oil in a blender, blend until you obtain a homogeneous consistency. Apply it to your hair and leave it on. Then rinse with cold water ⚠️ (you risk cooking the egg with hot water 🤣🤣🤣).

2. Rice and honey

Cook a cup of rice, the rice should be mushy. Leave to cool and mix with a little honey. Strain if necessary and apply to your hair. You can add vegetable oils of your choice (that your hair likes). Leave it on and then wash your hair.

4. Greek yogurt, egg, honey

Add a pot of Greek yogurt (plain yogurt), an egg and a little honey to a blender. Mix them and apply to your hair. Leave it on and wash your hair. Of course, for this mask you can do it by hand, whisking the ingredients with a whisk or fork.

3. Mayonnaise, avocado, honey

Mix 1 or 2 tablespoon(s) of mayonnaise and a part of avocado in a blender. Add a little honey to it. Leave it on and wash your hair as usual.

How to apply and how long to apply

The masks must be applied to damp hair. To do this, use a spray bottle to moisten your hair. This will prevent your mane from drying out and having the opposite effect, namely weakening the hair and making it more brittle. Also, start applying your masks two centimeters from the scalp (do not apply on the head), this way you will avoid having dandruff.

Leave them on for between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Then wash your hair.

When to do a protein mask

Depending on the type of porosity of your hair, you will do protein-based masks 1 to 2 times a month. Refer to the article on which treatments to adopt according to your type of porosity to know when to plan your protein hair care.

None None

That's all for this article, I hope you liked it and that you will at least try one of these masks. Of course, you can alternate the products and make other masks with these same ingredients, as soon as it is a protein product, and your hair loves it, you can also add your favorite vegetable oils. Dare to try! Also, you can increase (or decrease) the measurements I gave you, it will all depend on the length of your hair. Personally, I add the ingredients by flair 🤣🤣🤣🤣, I don't measure anything, as soon as I like the consistency 😉. But to avoid waste, it is better to measure. You will find on my page Tiktok, the videos of the different masks that I tested. Don’t hesitate to share your masks with me on the blog’s social networks, I’ll put the links below. As for me, I will see you very soon for a new article. Until then, take care of yourself ❤️!

See you soon 💋
